Cascade
Aerator-
this is first process of water treatment
plant in this process
we removes unwanted gases like H2S(HydrogenSluphide),
CH4 (Methane) and Co2
(Carbon dioxide) from the water
(and Increasing Oxygen concentration in
water.
Pri Chlorination Or Alum dosing (Chemical
Dosing )-
Second process in the pre chlorination
dosing. this process
chlorine adding in water disinfect it. And kills Bacteria,
protozoans, virus etc. chlorine is a
highly toxic chemical
which kill germs. also we mix alum in water .Aluminum
Sulfate, Shortly known as Alum,
when added to raw water
reacts with the bicarbonate alkalinity present in water and
forms a
gelatinous precipitate. This flock attracts other fine
particles and
suspended material in raw water, and settles
down at the bottom of the container.
Note:- Sometimes we use lime instead of chlorine because lime also works like chlorine.
Flash
mixing-
In flash mixing Alum and
water mixture in this process by rotating motor & Gravity .
Clariflocculator (Coagulation
& Flocculation)-
Clariflocculator is a combination of
flocculation and clarification in a single tank. It has two concentric
tanks where inner tank serves as a flocculation basin and the outer tank
serves as a clarifier. in this process the fine particle and suspended
material accumulate and settled down in surface by alum and heavy particle are settle down in
sedimentation process.
Filtration-
Next process is filtration in this process water flows
through a filter designed to remove particles in the water. The filters
are made of layers of sand and gravel, and in some cases, crushed
anthracite. Filtration collects the suspended impurities in water and
enhances the effectiveness of disinfection. The filters are routinely
cleaned by back washing.
Post chlorination
(Disinfection) & Distribution -
After the water has been
filtered, a disinfectant (for example, chlorine, chloramine) may be added
in order to kill any remaining parasites, bacteria, and viruses, and to
protect the water from germs when it is piped to homes and businesses...
